DVM, CVSMT, CVA
After graduating from UW Madison’s School of Veterinary Medicine in 2010, I moved to New York City to complete a year long internship at a busy referral center in Manhattan. From there, I moved to Chicago where I worked in emergency and general practice. Since then, I’ve come home to Wisconsin and have been practicing in Racine since 2012. In 2016 I graduated from the Healing Oasis Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Certification Program and became a member of the College of Animal Chiropractic. Currently I am pursuing Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities and have become certified in Veterinary Acupuncture through the Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. I have a very strong interest in integrative approaches to pain management and treatment of systemic diseases, Outside of Magnolia Springs, you can usually find me chauffeuring my two small children, cooking, or half finishing a project from another new hobby. You’ll probably see at least one member of my family around the hospital at some point, whether it’s my old man Pug (Doug), baby girl French Bulldog (Marge), most handsome kitty (Yusuf), or starving kitty (Agnes).
Since I’ve been a child, I have known that I wanted to be a veterinarian. I grew up having many different kinds of animals from reptiles, dogs and cats, to large animals such as pigs, sheep and cattle. After graduating from veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2010, I moved to Orlando, Fl to begin my career at a busy general practice. In 2011 I moved back to Wisconsin and practiced in Madison, Wi for a few more years. In 2013 I moved back near my hometown and have been practicing in the Racine area ever since. I have a strong interest in dentistry/oral surgery, dermatology, internal medicine, and oncology.
Outside the clinic I enjoy being with my husband and 3 kiddos. We love being outdoors and traveling as much as possible (particularly in the winter to escape the cold). We have 2 dogs, an English Bulldog/Boxer mix (Penny), and a Munsterlander mix (Payton), and 3 cats (Olaf, Raisin, and Peter). We live on a small farm and raise pigs, chickens, and also have two cool peacocks (Kevin and Karla).
I’m Laurie. I graduated with my B.S. from UW-Whitewater (just a few years ago), haha. My background has been in management on the human health side for the last 20+ years, but I couldn’t be more excited to start a new adventure in the animal world. When not in the clinic, I enjoy being outdoors, boating and biking. When not in the clinic I enjoy being outdoors and spending time with family (shout out to my “never ceasing to amaze me” grandkids) and friends.
At an early age I knew I wanted a career that involved animals. I grew up with dogs, cats, horses and pigs and I always liked helping the Veterinarian. Being a homebody due to the animals, I decided to stay close to home for college. When I heard Gateway Technical College was opening a Veterinary Technician program I signed up right away. I was the first class to go through the program and in 2017 I officially graduated from the veterinary technician program. My first job was at the Animal Hospital of Union Grove where I learned to perfect the skills I learned in school. I hope to learn even more here at Magnolia Springs Veterinary Center.
Growing up I always knew I wanted to work with animals, and I actually never had animals of my own until I was 18. I guess playing with family member pets, is where it all started. After high school I attended Gateway and started the nursing program – I didn’t know much about veterinary medicine, and thought the only way to be in the field was to be a Veterinarian. After gaining more knowledge, I moved my studies to Milwaukee Career College and obtained my vet assistant diploma. After working in the field for about three years, I went a little further and took my licensing test to become a CVT, and I passed it in 2016! I have a love for surgery, but I am always up for puppy and kitten play time! I have 2 dogs, Hurley (Cockapoo) and Boo (Maltese). I can’t wait to meet you and your fur family!
As a life-long pet owner, it seems perfect for me to have a retirement job in a veterinary center. I have lived in Racine my whole life with the exception of a few years in Madison during college. I think living with and caring for pets makes us more complete human beings. I love interacting with our clients who care so much for their companion animals. Every day working at Magnolia Springs is a great day for me. Come and see what a great place it can be for you and your pets.
Hi, my name is Autumn. Growing up I always knew I would work with animals one day. Right after high school I started at UW Whitewater as a Biology Major. I took a long break after my sophomore year and joined the United States Air Force and went a completely different route in order to widen my horizon of education. I graduated and am now a Crew Chief in the Air National Guard. After returning, I resumed my education at UW Parkside working towards my Biology degree and will hopefully be applying to Vet School within the next year. I started my internship here at Magnolia Springs in December 2018 and it’s been such a great experience. I’ve learned so much and can’t wait to see where it all takes me!
Hi, I’m Dawn. I’ve been in the medical and veterinary fields since I was 19, and have been the go-to pet caretaker for family and friends since long before that. When I got the opportunity to change from human medicine to veterinary back in 2002, there was no looking back. I’ve always felt a deep connection with animals and for me this field isn’t just my job, it’s my calling in life.
When I’m not at the office helping take care of your furry friends, I’m at home taking care of my own little dog pack, and my husband. When we have weekend time together, we love to go thrift shopping and watch wrestling. Cooking and yoga are my favorite ways to wind down when I get the chance, if I don’t get distracted by the million other things my brain comes up with.
I’m so happy to be with the Magnolia Springs team, and to meet you all!
Hi my name is Fagan R. I was around all types of animals growing up. I grew up on a small family owned horse farm in Ingleside IL. I learned at an early age, the love and responsibility of caring for animals. I currently share my life with two dogs, Makita and Duncan. I moved to the Pleasant Prairie area about 2 years ago with my fiancé. I graduated with an associates degree in Veterinary Technology from Milwaukee Career College in 2018. I have been in the veterinary field for about 5 years. I love the daily challenges and rewards of helping pet owners during difficult and rewarding times. Animals give me so much joy and purpose. I can’t imagine doing anything else and look forward to expanding my skills every day. I look forward to meeting you and your fur family!
