The Racine County has many K9 units. The training and costs associated with these dogs are entirely funded by community donations.
The resource of having K9 teams in the Patrol division gives Racine County an efficient way to locate narcotics, fleeing or hiding offenders, the recovery of evidence, and an invaluable increase in Officer safety. Simply put, the K9 officers can do things our human deputies cannot and for that they are invaluable to our agencies and the communities law enforcement serves.
These K9 teams also are great in the community and can be seen at numerous community events promoting safety and community awareness on the police K9 abilities.
