Spay And Neuters
Spay and neuter recommendations should not be generalized for all dogs and cats. Determining when to spay and neuter is a big decision and the recommendations need to be made for each specific patient depending on breed, size and the pet’s specific lifestyle. In general we recommend that spays and neuters be performed no earlier than six months of age. During your pet’s puppy visits, we will discuss an appropriate timeline for this procedure, as waiting for a first heat cycle or until your dog is closer to 18 months of age may be recommended.
